Extensions

A thirty (30) day extension may be granted to a defendant upon request. The extension must be requested on or before the preset appearance date on the citation.

  • If the citation is not paid within 30 days, a time payment fee (see explanation below) will be added to each violation that is not paid in full on the 31st day.
  • You may request an extension by either appearing in person at the Municipal Court Clerk's window, by mail or by fax. If requesting by mail or fax, complete the Request For Extension.

We urge you to contact the court if you are unable to pay the amount owed without undue hardship to yourself or your dependents. You will not be subject to arrest if you have active warrants but are taking steps to resolve them in a civil manner. Our goal is to help you; not put you in jail.  You may request a hearing before a judge to consider your ability to pay and request any non-monetary compliance options available to you. You should be prepared to explain and document your financial situation to the court.
