Fire Investigations

Fire Investigations are completed by the Fire Marshal's Office to determine how a fire started, where a fire started, and what caused the fire to start. 

Investigators with the Fire Marshal's Office are either certified as, or working towards certification as, National Association of Fire Investigators Certified Fire & Explosion Investigators (NAFI-CFEI) and International Association of Arson Investigators Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI). These independent and professional association certifications ensure that the Investigators have the training and experience and adhere to best practices standards.

The Kennedale Fire Marshal's Office works closely with Kennedale Police Department Detectives, Mansfield Fire Marshal's Office Fire Investigators, Arlington Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office Arson & Bomb Investigators, Tarrant County Fire Marshal's Office Arson Investigators, and the Tarrant County Arson Task Force. 

Fire Investigators utilize the scientific process to evaluate the origin and cause of fires. They also use National Fire Protection Association 921, the Guide for Fire & Explosion Investigations, to aid them in any investigation.
