6/25 - Driving While Intoxicated - 5300 block of Mansfield Highway: On this
date an officer stopped a vehicle for investigation of DWI. The adult female
driver exhibited signs of intoxication and denied having had any alcohol to
drink. She was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She
was arrested and transported to jail for booking. Pursuant to a search warrant,
the female was transported to a hospital for a mandatory blood draw.
6/25 - Burglary - 1100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:47 a.m. a victim
reported that unknown suspect(s) broke into a business during the overnight
hours. Two cash registers were pried open and an unknown amount of cash taken.
Entry was gained by breaking a small window.
6/27 - Application for Mental Detention and Observation - 400 block of
Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 8:09 p.m. officers responded to a report of an
emotionally disturbed adult female. The female is known to officers through
prior contacts as someone who struggles with mental illness. According to a
family member, the female had not been taking her medication and was acting
erratically. She had physically struck the family member but did not cause
injury. The female was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency
evaluation.
6/27 - Driving While Intoxicated - 1100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At
5:36 p.m. an officer received a call of an intoxicated driver. The officer
located the vehicle at a traffic light but it took multiple police units to get
the driver, an adult female, to stop. The driver exhibited signs of
intoxication and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety
assessment. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking and a blood
draw.
6/29 - Abandoned Vehicle - 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:45
p.m. an officer observed a male in a business exit the property without paying
for merchandise. The officer detained the male and took him back into the store
where he was allowed to pay for the items taken. As the officer was leaving he
noticed that the temporary license plate on the male’s vehicle was expired and
he waited to speak to the male when he exited the building. An employee came
out and told the officer that the male had run out of the opposite end of the
business and left the property. The vehicle still had the keys in the ignition.
The vehicle did not show to be stolen but the registered owner could not be
contacted and the male never returned. The vehicle was impounded for
safekeeping pending further investigation.
6/28 –Hit and Run Accident - 1200
block of Little School Road: At 10:11 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle
had been struck in the front end by a second vehicle that abruptly changed
lanes. The second vehicle fled the scene without stopping. The victim was able
to get a vehicle description and license plate number for the suspect vehicle.
6/29 - Assault by Contact - 300 block of S. New Hope Road: At 11:40 a.m.
officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Two adult females had been in
an altercation and one was alleging assault on the other. Further investigation
revealed that while there was contact between the two, it was unintentional and
no assault occurred.
