Rotary Club World Polio Day Celebration Fundraiser

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Join The Rotary Club of Kennedale at Burger Box on World Polio Day to raise awareness, funds, and support to end polio, a vaccine-preventable disease. When the initiative was launched more than 30 years ago, polio paralyzed 1,000 children every day. Great progress has been made since then, with cases dropping by 99.9%.

With polio nearly eradicated, we must sustain this progress and continue to reach every child with the polio vaccine. Rotary has committed to raising $50 million each year; and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged to match that 2-to-1, up to $150 million.

“This is a way the entire community can enjoy good food and fellowship and help make a difference in the fight to keep Polio eradicated! Just remember to drop your Burger Box receipt in our Polio Jar at the register.” Laurie Sanders

Rotary has contributed more than $1.9 billion to ending polio since 1985.
