Duties
Office of the City Secretary The City Secretary is a Charter officer who is appointed by the City Council. The City Secretary's Office has a broad range of responsibilities. As the manager of the Council's business records and actions, the City Secretary's Office provides comprehensive information to the community and the internal organization. Other specific duties are: Elections - Coordinates the regular municipal and special elections with Tarrant County Elections Administrator; qualifies candidates for City elections; Agenda - Manages the agenda process and public notification requirements for the City Council and the Kennedale Economic Development Corporation business meetings; Minutes - Prepares the minutes of Council's and EDC business meetings; Boards & Committees - Coordinates the recruitment and membership on City boards and committees; Public Records - Oversees the city-wide records management program for the retention, disposal, and preservation of public records; Code of Ordinances - Codifies ordinances and coordinates updates. Human Resources - Serves as HR Director for the City.
