The Board of Adjustment hears resident requested appeals of decisions made by the city staff in their interpretation of the city’s planning and zoning ordinances.
The Building Board of Appeals Hears appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the building official in their application interpretation of the technical provisions of the various building codes adopted by the city, and demolition of sub-standard structures.
Members serve on both boards.

YAC is assigned with identifying areas for community and policy improvement related to youth, including the development of programs and services that empower, support, and inform youth, create a family-friendly community, enable and encourage youth to be productive members of the community, and that bridge the generational gap and elevate youth interest and participation in local government. In order to achieve these goals, YAC members plan events, build partnerships, and carries out directives from Council and staff.

This board advises and formulates recommendations to the City Council for the use, improvement, and growth of parks and recreation activities within the City. The board is also responsible for development and implementation of community events.

The Utility and Infrastructure Board advises and formulates recommendations to Council regarding policies, projects, and other matters pertaining to the water and wastewater system, the storm water utility system, the streets and transportation system, and the solid waste collection system.

A fun after-school LEGO building club geared towards elementary-aged kiddos. Kiddos can practice their STEM skills by completing a different LEGO challenge each week. Each project encourages children to improve their problem-solving skills, work with others, and harness the power of their imagination. Come create with us!

KKB engages residents and businesses to take greater responsibility for improving the community’s appearance and environment. They also develop and coordinate beautification-related programming, outreach, and events, and serve as the Tree Advisory Board and the Tree City USA liaison.

FIRST DAY FOR FILING AN APPLICATION for a place on the Saturday, May 6, 2017, General Election ballot (30th day before the filing deadline, which is Friday, February 17, 2017). As this is an odd year, Council Places 1, 3, and 5 will be on this ballot.
Either City Secretary Leslie Galloway or Deputy City Secretary Kathy Moore will accept your filing. You're welcome to make an appointment, but it's not necessary. Candidate packets will be available in the City Secretary's Office in City Hall or online at www.cityofkennedale.com/election no later than January 1, 2017. Court is held once per month on the fourth Wednesday beginning at 1:30PM. Dockets include Juvenile First Appearance and Revocation Hearings, Adult First Appearance Hearings, Attorney Plea Dockets, Pre-Trial Hearings, Bond Hearings, Civil Property Hearings and Scire Facias Bond Forfeiture Hearings and Bench and Jury Trials. All jury trials will be held at 9:00AM, but only on an as needed basis
