These contracts, in development since November 2017, are being recommended for City Council approval by the Utility and Infrastructure Board (UIB) as well as by staff. The Arlington City Council is expected to also consider approval on March 19, with a second reading on Tuesday, March 26. If approved by both Councils, these agreements would become effective on Friday, March 29, 2019. The first is for the purchase of water from the City of Arlington. The second provides for the City of Arlington to assume the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the Kennedale water and wastewater utility systems.
The Kennedale City Council invites residents or any interested parties to attend the March 19 meeting at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall (405 Municipal Drive), where there will be an opportunity for public input before the Council considers approval. A presentation of the highlights of each of these contracts will be given as well.
